It was held for superstars from the promotion's SmackDown brand division. The event took place on January 5, 2024 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and aired as a special episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The broadcast concluded WWE's week-long programming of New Year's-themed shows called New Year's Knockout Week.
