Novak debuted for WWE on WWE NXT season four in late 2010, mentored by Dolph Ziggler. He began to alienate his pro by flirting with his manager Vickie Guerrero. Soon in the competition, Ziggler won a competition where the pro who wins could switch his rookie. Ziggler exclaimed that he never liked Novak, and he exchanged him for Byron Saxton. Chris Masters became his new pro, but Novak was voted off NXT that same night.
Novak returned in the fifth season of NXT, Redemption, where rookies from previous seasons were issued new pros; Novak was paired up with JTG. On May 1, 2011, at Extreme Rules, Novak was a lumberjack in the WWE Tag Team Championship match. Novak faced William Regal on the May 10, 2011 edition of NXT Redemption, which Regal won by way of submission. On the May 17 edition of NXT, Novak was voted off of the competition once again. On June 13, Novak was released from WWE.
