On April 21, 1982, Hamada won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship from Perro Aguayo. He lost the title on August 29, 1982 to Aguayo. He regained the title on April 17, 1984 from Aguayo. He would lose the title once again on May 20, 1984, to Villano III.
On April 13, 1997 in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Hamada teamed with Great Sasuke and Masato Yakushiji to defeat Taka Michinoku, Dick Togo and Mens Teioh at ECW Barely Legal.
